Mr. P. Venkatraman - Director Achieves the Difficult

Shell Transource is proud to state that Mr. P. Venkatraman - President & Director, completed the 21 km half marathon at the recently concluded Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, 2008. What is unique about the accomplishment is that he has run this marathon within less than a year of his open-heart by-pass surgery.
A regular fitness buff Mr. P.Venkatraman has run half marathons in the past, before he was diagnosed with heart disease. He took it in his stride and elected to undergo this surgery with a positive frame of mind. His recovery was very swift and within about 6 months after surgery he started training for the marathon. The unique achievement was covered by most leading newspapers in Mumbai.
Dr Ramakant Panda, CEO Asian Heart Hospital stated, “To the best of my knowledge no by-pass patient has ever done the half marathon before in India. We have an excellent Cardiac Rehab team headed by Dr Ashish Contractor and we are proud to be associated with Mr. P. Venkatraman’s achievement.
